The Response May Shock You!
Elections were held today, September 1, 2025, in Guyana, and there are numerous who appear persuaded that had Jesus remained in Guyana, one event or the other would certainly have been his option. Such sentences constantly capture my attention since when Jesus Himself walked amongst us, He had every possibility to choose a side, and yet He never ever did.
Jesus’ relationship with the politics of his day
During Jesus’ time on earth, the Roman Realm ruled with pressure. They were infamously unfair and understood to extract difficult taxes from individuals. Naturally, this created financial challenge, which subsequently caused
the appearance of countless political intrigues or “celebrations”, as we would certainly state today. Some were Herodians (advocates of the regime of Herod), others were anti-Romans (Galileans), a fair set were incredibly anti- Roman advocates of a theocratic form of government (Zealots), etc. Jesus, on the various other hand, did not provide His voice or power to any one of them. Rather, He called twelve guys and revealed a beautiful “policy” centered on the message of salvation and reconciliation with God.
