Who Thinks that the Results of the 2026 and 2028 Elections Are Already Decided?

Why they would be fixed. And why they wouldn’t be.

Yes, you voted. But is it in a free and fair election? Recent actions by Republicans indicate that it won’t be free and fair.

Elections matter. Consider this: Republicans have only a five seat majority in the House of Representatives. With that slim margin, Trump has been able to push through radical immigration, spending and tax policies. None of that would have been possible if just a handful of razor thin House elections had fallen in favor of the Democrats.

Since the fateful election of November 5, 2024, which dramatically changed the country, my Democratic friends have often said, “We have to win in 2026 and 2028.” Since they’ve been saying that, I’ve been asking them: “Do you think that the elections in 2026 and 2028 will be free and fair?”

Late last year, their answer was usually something like, “Yes of course, why wouldn’t they be?”

My response to this was, “But why WOULD they be?” When asked to explain, I said that Republicans have normalized lying, have no respect for norms or ethics and have a leader that will do anything — anything — to win. So why would they stop at nothing to keep power? And let’s not underestimate the power that it has, controlling the House, Senate, Presidency, and the Supreme Court.
