Defence honours and awards system

On 3 July 2024, the Senate referred an inquiry into the Defence honours and awards system to the Foreign Affairs, Defence and Trade References Committee for inquiry and report by 28 November 2024.
On 19 September 2024, the committee was granted an extension of time for the report until 28 February 2025. On 13 February 2025, the committee was granted a further extension of time for the report until 17 April 2025. On 17 April 2025, the committee presented a progress report and extended the report until 12 June 2025.
The committee is progressing its inquiry and requests an extension of time to report until 19 June 2025 to allow it to conclude its deliberations.
